Marzia Bianchi
Far Away, So Close
The project aims at exploring Marzia Bianchi’s experience as a migrant in England. Coming from Italy, Bianchi became absorbed in her own feelings of solitude, distancing herself from the people she left behind dealing with her absence. Until her mother and her fiancé wrote to her, creating an intimate meeting point to push the physical distance away. The images are her answer to their words.
After working for national Italian television and teaching, Marzia Bianchi pointed her talents towards photography. She earned a BA in Modern Languages and Literatures from University of Cassino and a diploma in ‘Making Documentaries’ from EICT in Cuba. Her documentaries of South America have been published in 2005 and she has exhibited recently in cities including Rome, Barcelona and Hastings.
